Bicolor Sweet Pea (Lathyrus Odoratus Bicolor Wiltshire Ripple) - Having red to maroon streaks and specks on white background petals, this variety is uniquly different from the classic pastel bicolor sweet peas which are mostly white or cream. Recently devoleped sweet peas do not have the sweet scent that gives the species its name in the first place, however, Wiltshire Ripple is delightfully fragrant. Needs at least 12 hours of daylight for best flowering making it a later blooming variety and grows to approximately 78 inches.

For best germination, Sweet Pea seeds need to be scarified before sowing. Nicking the seed with a nail clipper breaks the outer coat so they can absorb water immediately. By doing this a larger percentage of the seeds will germinate and they will sprout a few days earlier. After nicking the seed, soak the Sweet Peas seeds over night in tepid water. Do this the night before sowing the flower seeds directly outside.
