The Poppy flower is solid white, silky, saucer-shaped and measures 2 - 3 inches across. This Poppy blooms best in the cool weather of spring. White California Poppies are great for mixed borders, or stunning when planted in a mass grouping on the garden edge. Grows 12 - 15 inches tall, blooms profusely with finely divided blue-green foliage. How To Grow Poppy Seeds: Sow the Poppy seeds and rake the soil covering the seed about 1/8 inch deep, and keep the soil moist after planting until the flower seeds germinate in 14 - 28 days, depending on the temperature. Thin Poppy seedlings to about 12 inches apart. Decrease watering after the plants begin to flower as these flowers are known for water conservation. California Poppies are easy to grow, and will self-sow. If you allow them to go to seed you may only need to plant them once.

Orientale Poppy (Papaver Orientale Mix) - Orientale Poppies add old-fashioned charm to gardens. These perennials establish well from Poppy seeds, and they grow well in sunny areas in soil that is well-drained. Oriental Poppy plants are hardy and do well in mountain wildflower gardens at high elevations. The silky, bowl-shaped flowers appear in late spring and burst from distinctive buds covered in bristly hairs. This Poppy mix includes shades of red, orange, pink, white and bi-colored forms. Many of the wildflowers feature inky-dark blotches at the base of the petals and colorful stamens in the center. Oriental Poppies have seed pods that will drop wildflower seeds for germination the following spring. There's nothing more beautiful than a meadow filled with Poppy wildflowers!
