Mimulus (Mimulus x Hybrida Magic Blotch Mix) - These low growing plants tolerate light frost and can be planted directly outdoors. A compact, habit only grown 8 - 10 inches tall and wide make Mimulus well suited for containers. An ideal bedding plant for shady conditions. Trumpet-shaped blooms in mix of blotched flame colors. Spreading mound. Nice addition to color bowls, hanging baskets, or pond edge. A lavish mixture of highly exotic-looking speckled and spotted Monkey Flowers in richly coloured shades and patterns. Most mimulus species are annuals, herbaceous perennials or small shrubs. Patterns on the flowers give them the appearance resembling the grinning face of a monkey.
Grow Mimulus seeds indoors 6 - 8 weeks before the end of frost season. Press the flower seed into the soil but do not cover. Transplant Monkey Flower seedlings outdoors after danger of frost has passed 8 - 10 inches apart. From Mimulus flower seed to blooming plants in 8 - 10 weeks.
