It is easily grown from flower seeds, and it is one of the most colorful flowers for a beautiful garden. The  plant is excellent for naturalized areas and as ground cover for large areas, for parking strips, borders, large pots and tubs. The African daisy plant is exceptional for hot, sun-drenched landscapes. African Daisy (Osteospermum Ecklonis White) - African Daisy perennial flowers are grown from Osteospermum Ecklonis seeds. How To Grow Osteospermum From Seed: Sow Osteospermum seeds indoors 8 - 10 weeks before last frost or directly outdoors after frost danger has passed. Sow the Osteospermum seeds directly on the surface and very lightly cover. Light is needed for germination. Keep the flower seed moist until germination.

If the African Daisy seeds were started indoors, the young plants should be hardened off for 2 weeks before planting outdoors. When transplanting, pinch back to encourage bushier growth. African Daisy flowers will self-sow their own flower seed for next season, and they are fairly drought tolerant. Bees and butterflies enjoy visiting African Daisy plants.

This African Daisy Mix is a tender perennial grown from Osteospermum seeds. They can easily be grown in cooler zones as an annual, and it's a quick and easy bloomer that gives a wonderful display. Only reaches 10 - 14 inches tall and 14 - 20 inches wide make it an excellent choice for the front of the border! Osteospermum Akila mix has 2 - 3 inch daisy-like flowers. These plants make an eye catching summer display in an open border, as ground cover or in containers. Flowers can be single or semi-double. "Akila Mix" is a lovely Osteospermum with loads of flowers, colors ranging from bright white, pink and purple and they all have coloured centers. In warm climates it will bloom from early Spring into Fall.
