How To Grow Creeping Speedwell From Seed: Sow Speedwell seeds indoors 8 - 10 weeks before planting outside. Use a peaty starter mix and lightly sow the Creeping Speedwell seeds on the surface of the mix, and gently press the seed into the mix. Light is needed for germination, and keep the ground cover seed consistently moist.

Speedwell (Veronica teucrium Royal Blue) - A carefree, mound-forming Veronica. Long spikes of starry-shaped, rich gentian blue flowers are produced over tall, upright foliage.  Grows best in full sun, but will tolerate partial shade. Veronica provide some of the clearest true blues available in perennials.  Neat tidy plants have glossy foliage and will fill in without overpowering. Long-lasting color.

Speedwell prefers evenly moist soil with good winter drainage. If you are seeking more plants, you can divide it every 3 year or so. To keep tidy plants, shear back by 1/2 after flowering. Easily grown in average, medium moisture, well-drained soils in full sun to part shade. Avoid wet, poorly drained soils. Plants may be trimmed back by 1/2 after flowering to reduce the sprawling mature foliage into compact mounds and to encourage a possible late summer to fall rebloom. If plants are not trimmed back prior to setting seed, self-seeding may occur. Propagate by cuttings, seed or division.
