Isotoma axillaris or also called Solenopsis axillaris, is a compact plant with a mounding habit. The foliage is airy and delicate with a fern-like appearance, and it is covered with white, star-shaped flowers throughout the summer. The blooms are lightly scented, and the plants provide a soft edge to the flower border, or a wonderful filler for containers and baskets. Laurentia plants are self-cleaning and do not need deadheading. However, a light trim in mid-summer with encourage the compact growth and another flush of blooms.
