Nierembergia (Nierembergia Hippomanica White Robe) - Grown from Nierembergia seeds, this is a popular, low-growing ground cover plant. Also called Cupflower White Robe, white Nierembergia can be grown as annuals in Zones 3 - 6 and as perennials in Zones 7 - 10. Cup Flower ground cover prettily edges the front of the border, and Nierembergia White Cup also performs well in containers. Nierembergia are very attractive with the showy, white blooms and long bloom season. The foliage is mounding and has a fern-like appearance and is loaded with white blooms. Plant Nierembergia White Robe along side Purple Robe for a stunning look for the garden! Cut the ground cover plants back after flowering to remove seed heads or allow them to ripen and harvest the seed.

Sow Nierembergia seeds on the surface of lightly firmed, moist compost outdoors or in pots or trays and cover with a fine sprinkling of peat moss. Keep at a temperature of between 70 - 75F. After sowing this ground cover seed, do not exclude light as this helps germination. The mounding foliage has a fern-like appearance, is vigorous, and free-flowering all summer long. Nierembergia Purple Robe makes a wonderful addition next to other bedding-plants as it will not take over, but it fills its own space. Nierembergia Cupflower creates a colorful edging or ground cover in borders or rockeries all summer. In addition, purple Cup Flower makes a great container plant as well.
