Intense colorful foliage
The upper third of the foliage is an intense display of red and yellow. Each Amaranthus plant is unique in its coloring, so plan on having several! Try combining Perfecta with yellow-leaved Illumination or Molten Fire.

How to grow
How To Grow Amaranthus From Seed: Start the Amaranthus seeds indoors 6 - 8 weeks before the last expected frost. For areas with long growing seasons, Amaranthus seeds can be directly started outdoors in a prepared seedbed after danger of frost has passed. It is no wonder that Amaranthus Perfecta is called a Summer Poinsettia plant! The colors are intense and so eye-catching!
Indoors, grow in loam-based potting compost (No. 2) in full light. Water freely in summer, and provide high humidity if possible. Outdoors, grow in moderately fertile, humus-rich, moist soil in full sun in a sheltered site. Amaranthus Caudatus will tolerate poor soil.
